Prof. Dr. Sohrab Hossain Shourav is one of the pioneer urologist in Bangladesh. He has been working to upgrade and popular Urology, specially Surgical and Minimal Invasive Surgery by his newest invention. He served as Assistant Professor in Urology Department at Dhaka Medical College and Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. He also served as Associate Professor and Head of the Department at Urology Department in Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital. Currently has is working as Professor and Head of the department in Dhaka Central International Medical College. As Chairman of Advanced Center of Kidney and Urology, he is trying to introduce latest urology treatment in Bangladesh at low cost.

WHO Fellow, Trained in Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand. He has introduced Urethroplasty  using buccal mucosa (BMG Urethroplasty) in Bangladesh. He is a trainer of female incontinence  surgery (VVF 2 TOT).

He got best Scientific Paper Award (2004) of BAUS. He presented many brilliant scientific works in urological conferences in both home and abroad.

He is trying to popularize LASER Laparoscopy.

As of today, he has conducted more than 15 thousand urology operations in Bangladesh.
