Small Kidney stones in any calyx can be safely removed by RIRS using Holmium Laser. No blood is required during surgery. Patient can go home after 1 day.
For small stone less than 1.5cm can be treated by extra-corporal shock wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) commonly called Stone Crush. What is PCNL and Mini PCNL?
It is a keyhole surgery for removal of kidney stones in which instruments with small diameter are used for smaller kidney punctures. Laser, pneumatic and ultrasound devices are used in the process to fragment stones and there is very less bleeding in the process. With highest power Laser machine, even hard and large stones are fragmented quickly with less bleeding.
A kidney stone may not cause symptoms until it moves around within your kidney or passes into your ureter — the tube connecting the kidney and bladder. At that point, you may experience these signs and symptoms:
